Devorah is mainly influenced by the Iyengar tradition. She began to study yoga in 1975, becoming a dedicated student of Iyengar yoga at an early age. Over the years, she studied with many senior Iyengar teachers around the world, including spending time in India in 1985 with the master, BKS Iyengar and his daughter Geeta and son Prashant.
Devorah’s depth of understanding of the practice along with her attentiveness, compassion and sensitive guidance, allow her to inspire and nurture each student.
In her fun, gentle classes, she teaches healthy ways to stretch, strengthen, and balance, while creating spaciousness in the poses. With her many years of practice and teaching, she expertly guides students in using props to modify poses for each individual’s needs.
Her soothing voice and her use of restorative yoga help students to finish class deeply relaxed. She also reads an inspiring Mary Oliver poem at the end of class.
